Job Description:
We are a global engineering solutions company working closely with major Automotive, Highway, Agriculture and Construction Equipment Manufacturers and Tier 1 Suppliers to solve engineering challenges relative to Product Development, Cost Optimization, Manufacturing and Aftermarket.
The Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) team provides important insights to the automotive industry by conducting physical and virtual evaluation of vehicle design and parts to optimize performance, cost, and mass. Our team of experienced experts recommends design best practices to our customers, based on accumulated decades of automotive experience. Our work is fast-paced, to ensure our customers have the data they need when they need it to make the most informed product decisions.
The Program Manager will report to the Program Management Director and will collaborate with the VAVE Managers to drive effective delivery to our company's customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Serves as single point contact for our company's execution team to the customer.
- Ensures strong Project Initiation with approved statement of work and high-quality project plan.
- Schedules customer and internal review meetings to meet program timing.
- Achieves VAVE global process milestones on time with quality.
- Develops Stakeholder documents including distribution lists and required reports.
- Informs Internal Stakeholders of Program Content and Timing.
- Ensures properties are received (vehicles/math) on time; escalates accordingly.
- Ensures high quality customer Design Review preparation, execution, and post-review follow-up.
- Ensures customer queries are addressed on time with quality.
- Drive continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and best practices with VAVE and VAVE leadership.
Background:
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Extensive experience in program management, preferably in a VAVE or engineering environment.
- Able to set priorities and drive for results.
- Has experience in leading teams.
- Operates with strategic agility and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Demonstrates customer focus and business acumen.
- Can envision and advocate for process improvement potential.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Strong Microsoft office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred background:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
- PMP, SAFe or equivalent certification.
- Visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with VAVE methodologies and tools.
- Experience with project management software: MS Project, Asana, etc.
