Key Responsibilities
As a Transformation Engineer in Global Manufacturing Engineering, you will facilitate transformation workstreams within Final Assembly Technology. Your primary responsibility is to ensure strategic alignment and sustained momentum across multiple initiatives/ projects, the role being crucial for driving long-term value in Manufacturing Engineering. The role blends engineering expertise with structured project delivery — ensuring that transformation initiatives are well‑planned, well‑governed and successfully embedded.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the following responsibilities.
- Facilitate transformation workstreams with a strategic focus on Digital Innovation, People, Customer Love, Process Excellence, Sustainability and Cost Efficiency to deliver aligned and measurable outcomes.
- Facilitate end‑to‑end delivery of transformation projects, from scoping and planning through to implementation and closure.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, RAID logs, risk mitigations and resource requirements.
- Own project governance, reporting and alignment with PMO standards.
- Track value delivery (cost, efficiency, quality, lead time) and maintain a benefits realisation plan.
- Support the development and deployment of innovative technologies and processes within Final Assembly.
- Provide governance and reporting to track performance against transformation targets using tools such as:
- Microsoft Project – for project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking.
- Excel – for data analysis, KPI tracking, and performance dashboards.
- PowerPoint – for presenting progress updates, insights, and executive summaries.
- Jira – for managing agile workstreams, tracking issues, and sprint progress.
- Lucid (Lucidchart/Lucidspark) – for visualizing workflows, transformation roadmaps, and stakeholder maps.
- These tools support structured oversight, transparent communication and data-driven decision-making across all transformation initiatives.
- Recognize and celebrate successful project completions, highlighting impact and reinforcing a culture of achievement.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and transformation.
Success in this role will be measured through:
- Operational Efficiency Gains (e.g., cycle time reduction, first-time quality rate)
- Cost Savings Delivered (£ saved through transformation initiatives)
- On-Time Project Delivery (% of projects completed on schedule)
- Sustainability Impact (e.g., waste reduction, energy efficiency)
- Technology Adoption Rate (% of users adopting new tools/processes)
- Supplier Performance Improvements (e.g., defect-free deliveries, onboarding time)
- Employee Engagement & Training Completion Rates
Skills, experience and qualifications required:
- Strong background in manufacturing engineering, ideally within final assembly operations.
- Project management capability (planning, RAID management, value tracking, governance).
- Experience working within PMO frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
- Excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence at multiple levels.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution
- Project and Budgetary Management Experience.
- Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline.
- Highly organised with strong analytical and systems-thinking ability.
