Job Title: Group Scrum Master

Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire - Hybrid 

Rate: £49.56ph via an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35) or £36.81ph PAYE

Employment Type: Contract (Approx. 12 Months - Maternity Cover)

Hours: Standard 40 Hours Per Week

Job Description:

Group Scrum Master Group Scrum Master Guiding and Coaching team members in self-management and cross-functionality; (Emphasize importance of communication). Helping Scrum Team focus on creating high-value product increments that meet the 'Definition of Done'. Helping removal of obstacles to Scrum Teams progress (Managing obstacle board reviews). Ensuring that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive and kept within the timebox. Helping Stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work (from tools and processes usage perspective i.e. change management 1 pager population).

  •  Evolving new ways to bridge between business tools and processes and Agile WoW.
  •  Ensuring top-down and bottom-up sync between product groups and vehicle group for any activity.
  •  Governing effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.
  • Managing group Product Backlog and ensuring clear and concise Product Backlog items which are linked to stories/features/capabilities.
  • Facilitating Stakeholder collaboration where necessary.
  • Preparation of vehicle team QBR memo in conjunction with SPM, Prog Chief and PGLs.
  • The Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).
  • The GSM major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.
  • GSM's communicate with Stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.
  • Guide team on introspection to continually improve agile ways of working.
  • Representing impediments to Programme/Vehicle Teams via Obstacle process (JIRA tickets).
  • Support with escalation in Obstacle Reviews.
  •  Support the group in obstacle resolution i.e. helping removal of obstacles to Scrum Teams progress.
  • Protects the Team from outside interference.
  • Conscience of Product Owner - Backlog creation and refinement, estimation, roadmap development and dependency alignment.
  • Helping Stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work (from tools and process usage perspective).
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement, transparency and consistency amongst the teams ensuring clear and concise Product Backlog items which are linked to stories/features/capabilities.
  • Ensure that the group members know how to check that stories exist related to their MBIs and how to check the status/ timing of them.
  • Review performance charts every sprint to pinpoint challenges.
  • Contributing to the delivery activities for my squad through planning and MBI assessments.
  • Promoting and soliciting of timely change requests as required.
  • Facilitate Retrospective (improve team efficiency), Daily Stand-ups and Sprint Planning/ Backlog refinement.
  • Ensure Group remains focused on meeting objectives.
  • Supporting/leading resolution of obstacles and align with other squads if necessary.
  • Ensure AGILE Ceremonies are scheduled.
  • Help co-ordinate showcase and make sure on time.
  • Prepare meeting materials for Group Sync meetings to ensure effective information flow to team members.
  • Support Squad(s) and Group Product Owner to run the BRP and Marketplace sessions effectively.
  • Including any preparation of presentation materials.
  • Support the group in obstacle resolution i.e. helping removal of obstacles to Scrum Teams progress.

Skills Required: 
  • Delivery experience: this could have been through purchasing, engineering, programmes, quality, integration, etc.. as long as it is part of product/programme delivery through launch.
  • For Agile, we are looking for someone with the basic understandings of SAFE & Scrum and had been through Scrum Master experience once in their career
  • Automotive Product Development and Delivery Experience together with Agile delivery knowledge.
Additional Information:
Hybrid working - likely 2 to 3 days on site at Gaydon, occasional travel to Halewood
