Job Description

Job Title: Project Engineer – Accessories  

Location: Kenilworth

Hourly Rate: £22.50 Limited Company Basis

Hours: Standard 40 Hours Per Week

Employment Type: Contract (Initially to end of March 2020)

Position Description:

Develop & deliver consistent and efficient components for accessory products on time to cost, weight and PSW targets.

Support the management and coordination of engineering deliverables within the platform.

Support the delivery of timely engineering solutions to programme requirements as per Gateway deliverables process.

Support the resolution of technical conflicts.

The role involves development and delivery of such items as; carrying and cargo management systems, mud flaps, towbars, roof carrying, bike carrying, load space carrying solutions.

The engineer will typically work with the planning and design teams to develop a solution and then liaise with suppliers for delivery.

 

Skills Required:

3 Key Skills Required

·       Experience in automotive systems

·       Project management capability - demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.

·       Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate at all levels

 

Skills Preferred:

·       Understanding of Commodity Delivery processes is required.

·       Engineering Qualification preferably degree

·       PMST/Engineering Delivery Experience for Plastic/Structural/Functional parts

·       Automotive Engineering experience with an understanding of automotive product creation and delivery tools like GPDS/PCS/PCDS

·       Experience of having launched products on at least 1 car programme, from initial concept through to final launch stages achieving ESO and PSW.

·       Supplier management

·       Experience in use of engineering tools - FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.

·       RFQ process & PDS creation Releasing and WERS Process including Change Management Issue Management - AIMS Requirement Management - eFDVS/RMDV

·       A good Knowledge of the Technology, Testing, Manufacturing and Validation of plastic and structural components.

·       Software Skills - PC Literate, MS Office Proficiency, MS Project knowledge.

·       Ability to review CAD through Digibuck, Catia V5 & V6 and 3D Live

·       Any person supplied should have a valid UK driving licence and meet the medical requirements of the facilities.

 

Experience Required:

·       Proven experience in automotive.

·       Has proven experience of component & system delivery

·       Understanding of Commodity Delivery processes is required.
